👁️ Be My Eyes

Be My Eyes is a free phone app for blind and low-vision people. Its Be My AI feature describes out loud what the camera sees: the text on a medicine box, the contents of a letter, the colour of clothing or the display on an appliance. You can ask follow-up questions about the description. You can also video-call a sighted volunteer through the app when you need a human's help. The AI description can occasionally be wrong, so for important things like medicine doses, double-check another way.

Who it is for: Blind and low-vision people, and older adults whose eyesight has weakened.
